Coach Nahuel’s Bio

Hi, I’m Coach Nahuel since I was a kid I’ve always had an interest for combat sports, my dad was a karate sensei back in the day so sometimes he would teach me some karate stuff, I thought it was cool I just didn’t have a drive for it, but then I was introduced to boxing and my whole perspective changed. I fell in love with the sport a passion grew that I didn’t know I had. Boxing really helped me throughout my life, when times were hard boxing kept me sane and when times were good boxing made them better. Training always put me in a good mood I learned so much throughout the years and I’m excited to share it with the world. Everyone should know self defense and I’m thankful to be in a position where I can teach and help people achieve their goals building character, discipline, keeping you in great shape physically and mentally, sharpness and awareness levels instantly rise keeping you feeling confident fit healthy and most of all safe! I love helping others any way I can but when it comes to self defense my heart drives automatically. The love and passion I have for this sport is real and I can’t wait to share my knowledge and start training with you!

Coach Ji’s Bio

Coach Ji is a full-time coach at Slick Sluggers Boxing. He has a passion for boxing and helping others achieve their goal. He works closely with adults and children who have a passion for boxing, fitness, and learning self-defense. With great patience and care, he helps his clients become a fighter. Mentally and physically. Outside of work Coach Ji spends his time enjoying the outdoors.

Coach Gerald’s Bio

Hey, I’m Coach Gerald and I work at Slick Sluggers Boxing. I like to have fun while I push my students to the limit. I’ve been boxing for a few years and have been watching the sport all my life. I fell in love with boxing when I first started and have been doing it ever since. Throughout my boxing journey I would give advice and try to help other people get better. That’s when I realized that I loved coaching other people. Watching others better themselves really filled me with joy and it showed me my purpose in life. If I ever get the pleasure of working with you, I’ll dedicate my time to helping you achieve your aspirations.

Coach Dave’s Bio

Hey everyone! I’m Coach Dave, 49, from Brooklyn, NY. Lifelong boxing fan, inspired by Mike Tyson. Started with Tai Kwon Do, Kung Fu, then Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu, but struggled to find a welcoming community. Found a home at a gym in East Meadow, switched to American boxing in 2013. After 10 years with Coach Nic, I became a coach at SSB. I love teaching boxing and helping students feel confident. Slick Sluggers boxing gym has changed my life, and our goal is to welcome and support everyone.

Coach Brii’s Bio

Hey! My name is Brii, coach at Slick Sluggers Boxing! Reflecting on my journey with boxing and this gym in particular, gratitude is all that comes to mind. I started as a client back in 2020, with some prior experience with the basics. Over the following years, the program at Slick Sluggers completely enhanced my skills and knowledge for this sport while my coaches fine-tuned my technique to perfection. What initially started as a fun fitness pursuit and stress reliever evolved into a profound self defense skill and confidence booster. Falling in love with the sport and feeling at home with the gym’s community led me to transition into a coach role in 2023. Boxing has totally changed my life, but it isn’t just a sport for me; it’s a way to escape the chaos of the world and focus entirely on the moment. It’s a stress reliever, a life saver, and a fitness journey all in one. Boxing helped me in ways I never imagined, getting me in the best shape of my life physically and mentally. My goal is to share that same life-changing experience with others through coaching.

Coach Ricky’s Bio

My experience with combat sports spans 15 years now. Started with MMA in 2009 but gravitated much more towards the standup striking aspect of it. I then switched to Muay Thai, became obsessed, had a few competitions, and trained for over a decade in the sport. I got back into grappling, getting a white belt with 4 stripes at Serra BJJ. Unfortunately Covid shut the gym down and that landed me in a new gym—slick sluggers boxing. Did privates for a little over two years, and took my striking game to a level I did not know possible. I Fell in love with the fluidity that boxing offered so much that I haven’t trained Muay Thai since (thought I’ll always love it). I am not just a coach but a student of the game; I love learning and being able to share the knowledge I’ve accumulated over the years. And beyond that, I’m very passionate about optimizing all aspects of health—mental, physical, and spiritual. My goal is to not just to make better boxers, but better humans.

My name is Coach Kev and I’ve been a dedicated boxer for 15+ years, coaching for 6. I’ve found solace and strength in the sport. Boxing has been more than just a physical activity for me; it has been a crucial outlet for mental clarity and focus. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills, demonstrating resilience and determination both in and out of the ring. For me, boxing isn’t just a sport—it’s a way of life that has helped me get my mind right and stay centered. As a coach I am committed to providing the guidance and mentorship that I never had, making sure that each of my students not only excel in boxing but also develop confidence, discipline, and resilience. My approach is focused on creating a supportive and empowering environment where all my students can achieve their full potential.
